Difference between lecturer and faculty member?

-Generally, a lecturer is considered a member of the faculty but can have the following characteristics:

is not on a tenure track and is hired essentially for teaching and not for research; is a person that has not completed or is in the process of completing their doctorate; is a person that has not or will not complete the terminal degree in the teaching discipline but possess a set of skills needed in a particular section of a course.
