How to write application to principal to take leave.?

-Writing a 'leave of absence' letter to a principal can be antagonizing , and stressful. First, I hope that you have some kind of relationship with your principal. In cases like this, your principal can be more supportive of you - if you have an established relationship. You should also have details and information about your particular circumstances established from your district, In other words, if you are going on leave -is it medical? can you still be paid? Are you attending school? Are you going out of the country on sebatical? Most teachers who have an established relationshipw with their principal - the principal already knows what is going on - and it's a matter of paperwork, etc.

If you have not developed this relationship - then you need to draft your letter in good time (time so that the principal can perhaps have someone ready to take over your class quickly, and not leav e students hanging). Discuss the details with your principal. If you are able to come back after a period of time, let the principal know. I believe that principals will work with you if you are open, and honest.

Case in point - A teacher was invited to attend an 8 week tour of Durbin, South Africa Schools and learn the educational programs and systems there. This opportunity was to give the teacher and her school a chance to get involved in educational systems worldwide. The teacher went away for the 8 week period - but had website collaboration, teacher and student involvement in the program, lesson plans and assessments as growth potential for all parties involved. She was granted her leave AND paid for it. She returned with ideas, and information that would continue the process of other ways to help schools in foreign nations and the western world gorw closer.

Principals will work with you - you just have to be honest.

When you write your application - be honest. It might be you just need a 'mental health rest' - that' is okay too. Just make sure your DISTRICT will approve of your leave before you talk with the principal.Go in and talk to the principal face to face and explain why you want a leave. The principal will tell you what to put in writing for the school district. Good luck!
you need to go to him face to face , say why and then he will tell u what to do from there
