Ladies (teachers or parents) trained in types of restraint?

-What are the types of restraint techniques you have learned to get a handle on a child before, say between the ages of 8-12? 10 year old boy in my case. How effective are they, meaning was he/she able to get out of it? Or he/she couldn't and eventually calmed down? I need to know what's effective, thank you.If you're in a public school in a regular (as opposed to a special needs) classroom, you should not

be restraining a child of that age. You get the other kids out of his way and call the office or another teacher for help. If you don't have a witness the kid (who sounds disturbed) could accuse you of

abuse. Restraint does not always calm a child down because they can panic at being confined.

If you are in a special needs situation you should discuss the matter with other staff members, who can give you advice.I don't know where you are but in the US restraints are very illegal. You use restraints, you go to jail. In an institutional setting staff restrain people using SKIP training. this does not use restraints but uses a person (or people) to restrain. If you're not in an institution, you call the police.
