My teacher makes fun of me for reading?

-I'm in tenth grade going into eleventh and I had a teacher this year who would constantly make fun of me for reading, at first it was kind of funny like he jokes with all of the kids but he only kept it up with and and it got to the point where after class he'd yell at me about it. I've had other teacher make jokes and stuff bc I read so much but it's always in good fun and I can take a joke but he started to become really mean about it. The problem is I will have him again next year as a junior and there's a possibility of getting him as a senior too (I go to a pretty small school). So does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with this?Write a complaint to your principal
Yeah, people are annoying when they do that. How they hell are we supposed to know they're serious if they're joking around? And what's the point of joking? To try to get a message across without being hostile? What's the point if it's going to end in hostility anyway, right? Might as well be straightforward from the beginning. I'd rather have that, than to see their demeanor slowly transform over time like a sick mutation.



It's even worse that they act jokingly in the beginning too, because once they turn hostile, it just makes you realize that all niceness in the world is an act, and at any time that act will go away. A person who was once friendly but turned unfriendly is more sickening than someone who was consistently unfriendly from the beginning.
That's not right.........no student should be made fun of for reading. A lot of the kids in my grade make fun of me for the same reason, but they're idiots who can barely read themselves, so I don't really care about that. My teachers encourage me. I'd say that you should let your principal or another staff member know what is going on. Are you reading during class-when you're not supposed to? Because that would give the teacher a little excuse for at least the yelling at you. Well, not really; he could just ask you nicely to stop reading during class.

Anyway, if you're not doing anything that you are not supposed to be, definitely let your parents or a teacher know.
